How To Stay Motivated

It's not easy staying motivated when your halfway through what I call the .... "Hibernating at school" period. With exams coming up for myself and many others, staying motivated is vital skill that I hope I can help you master. Here are five simple steps to staying motivated.

1. Stay Hydrated. Researchers say that drinking water calms nerves (good tip if your in a test situation as well)

2. Have a cute designated workspace. Having adorable stationary makes you and your workspace happier, therefore motiving you to do your time without feeling overcrowded and un-interesting. With a designated workspace your at less of a risk of being distracted into crawling up in bed, and watch vlogs all day. (trust me you'll have time for that later!)

3. Structure your study. Plan what you will be studying specifically for each day/week so you keep organised and on track for success.

4. Give yourself a break. Reward yourself! whether it's a school report, a work assignment or exams that are forever creeping closer. Celebrate the small achievements because you can't do anymore than your best.

5. Think of the positives to come. Looking forward to things is sometimes what keeps me sane, whether it's a trip to Europe or a trip to the fridge, your hard work is what will get you there.

6. Remember that working is not your whole life. This one is probably the most important. I read somewhere online that "my current situation is not my final destination" enjoy the view, appreciate the journey instead of becoming obsessed with its destination

Treat yo self with DIY Face Masks

Up your zen game with these simple to make nourishing facial masks. I love to unwind with a good ol’ face mask once or twice every two weeks - it’s good to reserve time for yourself even with that busy schedule, put aside 20-30 minutes of your day for you. I will be showing you three recipes to not only help you relax, but moisturise and smooth out your skin.

Chia Seed Mask

I am utterly obsessed with chia seeds and they are honestly worth their online rave, this recipe softens my skin soooo much and is pretty fun to apply.

You Will Need:
3 Tablespoons of chia seeds
2 Tablespoons of water
2 Tablespoons of rice syrup (honey does a perfect job as well)
1 Tablespoon of extra virgin Olive oil

1. Add your chia seeds into a small container, along with your water to soak for 30 minutes. Every 10 minutes or so, stir it a little (you will begin to see the seeds turn into a gel).

2. Now scoop out your chia seeds and put them in a larger bowl.

3. Add your olive oil.

4. As well as your rice syrup.
5. Whisk together.

6. Rub this on your skin as it is a great exfoliant or just as a face mask leaving it on for 10 minutes.

Banana Smoothie Face Mask

This particular one is probably the easiest and fastest out of the three. Bananas are really good for your skin they act as a natural skin moisturiser as well as controlling oils and treating acne (directly apply the inside of a banana peel onto your acne to reduce inflammation and destroy bacteria).

You Will Need:
1/4 of a cup of honey yoghurt (or plain yogurt with 2 tablespoons of honey)
1 mashed banana

1. Mash your banana with a fork in a bowl smoothing out big lumps.

2. Add your yoghurt.

3. Mix.

4. Apply to face and leave to set for 10-20 minutes.
5. Rinse off with water.

Oatmeal Face Mask

Oatmeal contains 18 different amino acids (which are essential to healthy skin) so by using this face mask your looking after your skin the right way.

You Will Need:
1/2 cup of hot (not boiling) water
1/3 cup of oatmeal
2 Tablespoons of honey yoghurt (or plain yogurt with 2 tablespoons of honey)
1 egg white

1. Combine your hot water with the oatmeal and let it settle for two to three minutes.

2. Strain out your water (I actually forgot to do this before adding my yoghurt) and add yoghurt.

3.  Now add your egg white.

4. Combine

5. Let the face mask set for 10-15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.

And thats it! I hope these helped :)
PS: if you do have left overs just pop it in a zip-lock bag/jar and leave in the fridge for about 2-4 days. -M
